How To Check If Your Windows 10 Is Activated

It’s been almost two days since Microsoft started pushing out Windows 10 to Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 PC users who reserved their free upgrade to Windows 10. Users who haven’t reserved their free upgrade can use the official Windows 10 Media Creation Tool to upgrade to Windows 10 immediately.

Over the past two days, millions of users have upgraded their Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 installations to Windows 10 for free.

Although the free copy of Windows 10 is automatically activated soon after successfully upgrading to Windows 10, and you will not be asked to enter a product key, many users are not sure if their copy of Windows 10 is activated.

After upgrading your Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 installation to Windows 10, you can follow the below mentioned methods to check if your Windows 10 copy is activated.

Note that this method is useful only to check the activation status of Windows 10, which means this will not confirm that the Windows 10 copy in question is genuine.

Method 1

Step 1: On Windows 10, click the Start button and then click or tap Settings app icon on the left-side of the Start menu to open the same.
