There have been a lot of rumors about the iPhone 7 — improved battery life, a stabilized camera, waterproofing — but we’ll find out all of that for sure soon enough, because there is finally a release date.
According to Forbes, the iPhone 7 will be available for pre-order on September 9th and go on sale September 23rd.
It looks like the headphone jack is definitely going missing, and that’s causing a bit of concern sales-wise. “If such features get chipped away, the loss of a headphone jack in conjunction with a third year of largely unchanged external design set against the backdrop of falling sales could spell trouble and imply stagnation,” wrote Gordon Kelly. “Yes, sales figures will still be on a scale of ‘trouble’ most smartphone makers would die for but it’s trouble nonetheless.”
